Game Summary
by Premier League All-Stars manager Mickey Filippucci

The Senior Division A Team dominated 11-1 over the Premier Division in Game 1 of the 2013 All Star Games, Sunday December 1, 2013.  Somehow half the Premier Division team lost their way to the park and were missing in action.  But just the same, Kenny Tyson-Miami Blues dominated on the mound, striking out 7 and allowing only one run over his six innings of work while his teammates unleashed a hitting attack on starter Alex Arteaga from the Coral Gables A’s.  Add in some sloppy defense by the Premier All Stars and the Senior team ran up 8 runs in the second inning to seal the deal early as just about the entire Senior Team lineup made contact.  Yusbell Ortega – Dade Diamondbacks led the Senior Team attack with three hits (3-4, 2B, 2 RBI) followed by Bill Zoffinger- Miami Blues(2-4, 2 RBI, 2B) and Donny Gagliano- SF Reds (2-3, 2 RBI, 2 2B).  For the Premier Team, Brandon Stein-Miami Red Sox and Eric Perez-Coral Gables A’s went 2-3.

Game Summary
by Senior All-Stars Manager Dave Carnevale
In the 2nd Game of the day, the Senior Division would come away with another win, this time against the Masters Division All Stars.  The game was a close and competitive game, with the Senior Div All Stars narrowly beating the Masters All Stars, 11-9.
The Seniors All Star manager, Dave Carnevale would win the coin toss, and elect to be the home team.  Franklin Brito of the Southern Yankees would get the All Star Game start for the Seniors.  In the top of the 1st, the Masters team would strike 1st as Jorge Orbeta, Jr of the Dade Nationals would lead off with a walk.  Franklin would then strike out the next two batters, but a base hit by Angel Estevez of the Dade Tigers would plate Orbeta, Jr.  Franklin would then get a ground out to 1st to close out the top of the 1st.
The Senior All Stars would answer back with 4 runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st.  Nick Kempen of the SF Beach Bums, batting in the lead off spot and playing CF, would get start things off with a bang, lining a double to gap in right center.  The next batter, Davie Tigers All Star, Sal Rodriguez would follow with a single.  Batting in the 3rd spot, big lefty Emilio Borges of the Miami Cardinals, would bring Nick and Sal home with an opposite field double to left center  Carlos Fernandez of the Davie Tigers would then get a bloop hit to right.  A line out to left by Miami Cardinals, Howard Capote would give the Masters team their 1st out of the inning.  But Cesar Carillo of the Davie Tigers would extend the inning by lining a double in the left center gap to score Emilio and Carlos.
In the top of the 2nd, the Master squad would tack on a run, as Alex Tovar from the Black Sox, would lay down a perfect bunt base hit and then steal 2nd to get in scoring position.  Franklin would get a quick strikeout and then an error in RF would score Alex.  Franklin would get out of the inning with a ground out and a strikeout.
The Senior All Stars would go quietly offensively in the 2nd, and the Masters squad would tie the game in the top of the 3rd.  The Senior squad would once again go quietly in the bottom of the 3rd  but would not be denied again in the 4th as they would erupt for 6 runs.  Big hits that inning coming from Howard, Cesar, Austin Sanchez of the Monster Mini Golf Monstrous, and Bo Diaz of the Beach Bums.
Taking over for Franklin on the hill, would be Miami Cardinals All Star,  Elias Bure.  The 18 yr old righty would pitch very well, going 3 innings, allowing only 1 hit, 1 ER, while striking out 4.  Great play along the way made by catcher Bo Diaz.  Bo, backing up the 1st baseman, Frank Crupi of the Southern Yankees, would grab an errant throw by the SS, and quickly fire to 2nd to nail the runner.
The Senior squad’s bats would go cold as they would only manage 1 more run, thanks to Monstrous speedster, Bory Rios.  Bory would single to start the inning and flash his speed by scoring all the way from 1st on a bad throw to 1st.
In the 7th, Emilio would come in to pitch for the Senior squad, and allow only 1 hit.  But in the 8th, the veteran Masters team would mount a fierce comeback, lining 3 consecutive hard hits off of Emilio.  Aided by a couple of errors that inning the Masters team would score 4 runs to close the gap 11-9.  But the Seniors would get some stellar defense as well, as Sal Rodriguez would throw out a runner at the plate from LF to keep the lead at two.  Coming in relief would be hard throwing Bory Rios, who would shut down the Masters rally and end the inning with a huge strikeout.
The Senior squad would threaten in the bottom of the 8th as Nick and Sal would come up with 2 out hits, but could not add to their lead, and would head into the 9th with a nerve wracking 2 run lead.  But Bory Rios would prove to be the difference, as he would get a grounder to SS for the 1st out and promptly strike out the next two to seal the win for the Senior All Stars!  It was a fun game and congratulations to all the All Stars from each division as it is you who makes our league the best in South Florida!
