The Dade All Stars beat the Broward/Palm Beach All Stars 12-7 in a 13 inning contest held at the beautiful pearl of a stadium, Flamingo Park Miami Beach, Sunday September 3, 2017. The League was well represented as players from both Open and Masters Divisions were combined for this annual affair leaving the two teams loaded with talent. And what a game it was.
George Kenhan, manager of the four time Open Division champions, Miami Brewers, coached the Dade All Stars and added the ALL STAR GAME win to his long resume. Juan Vene, manager of the Open Division Champions, Weston Sharks, managed the Broward/Palm Beach All Stars. All players received either authentic SFBL logo caps or SFBL tshirts commemorating their participation in the 2017 SFBL ALL STAR GAME. Nice!
But the star of the show was Matt Chitwood – Miami Yankees, who struck out nine in four innings, and gave up only one run and two infield hits. Way to go Matt Chitwood – our ALL STAR Most Valuable Player!
