The Dade Nationals won the first ever Masters Division Championship with a resounding 12-6 win over the Southern Yankees at Sunset Park in Plantation June 23, 2019. The Nationals broke it open midway through the game and coasted to victory after MVP Alvin Rivera hit a two run BLAST to deep left field. Closer Alex Batista finished strong to snuff out a late Yankees rally before the Nationals broke out into their happy dance.
Veteran skipper, Jorge Orbeta Sr., has been after the crown for almost two decades but, finally, his claim to fame arrived! Can’t say he didn’t earn it.
Perennial contenders, Southern Yankees, were in the hunt all season, getting stronger and stronger each week, only to come so close in the Finals. But no one loves the game more than Yankees manager, Ray Asmar, who promises the Yankees will be back to take care of unfinished business.
Congratulations to the Dade Nationals, our MASTERS DIVISION CHAMPIONS!
