The Miami Brewers won their sixth Open Division Title, beating the previously undefeated 13-0 Fort Lauderdale Yankees 8-6 in a THRILLER. Down 4-1 in the eighth inning, the Brewers gave up two runs on wild pitches and looked down and out heading into the ninth inning losing 6-1. But after loading the bases on a base hit, walk and hit batter, the Yankees brought in their ace reliever with no outs. But the Brewers staged an epic comeback and scored 7 runs in the top of the ninth, all with two out, to take an 8-6 lead before closing it out in the bottom of the ninth 1-2-3.
What an awful way to end the season for the Yankees, who are clearly one of the best teams in league, but give the Brewers the credit for not giving up. The baseball gods were on their side this time and now the Brewers have claimed their sixth title. Sean Hernandez, the Brewers Ace, won the Most Valuable Player honors, pitching 7 innings, giving up only 6 hits with 9 strikeouts! Congratulations to both teams for their outstanding seasons!
