The Orlando Vipers, skippered by veteran Jorge Munoz, looked impressive today posting two wins on the first day of the Miami Open tournament Saturday May 24, 2014. The Vipers pulled off a come-from-behind victory by scoring three runs in the bottom of the eighth to win 4-3 over the Aventura Braves. Then they dominated in a 10-0 shutout of the Miami Aqua Sox in game two at beautiful Flamingo Park on South Beach.
Meanwhile, the Aventura Braves rebounded to hold off a late Miami Red Sox rally to pick up a crticial 7-5 win. The Miami Red Sox had defeated the Miami Aqua Sox 7-4 in the early game at West Perrine Park.
Yet all four teams are still in the hunt to make the playoffs due to the round robin nature of the tournament. Tie breakers may have to be employed to advance the teams on Sunday May 25.
