South Florida Baseball League presents our Spring Season PLAYER OF THE WEEK 1 – Ahmad Williams – Fort Lauderdale Yankees, who turned in one of the best performances in the league in a long time. First, he pitched 5 1/3 innings in relief after entering the game in the third inning down 6-0, recording 9 K, giving up ZERO earned runs and only 2 hits. He also mashed at the plate, going 3-4 with 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 BB and 4 RBI.
Talk about drama, Ahmad also had the go ahead bases-loaded double to lead the Yankees to an 11-7 win over the Miami RH Baseball Club.
AND, if that’s not enough, he also threw the “IMMACULATE INNING, striking out three batters on 9 pitches.
