Red Sox blow lead in last inning
by Miami Red Sox (Premier Division)
Miami starter, Franklin Boet, pitched five innings of great baseball and walked off the mound with the lead. However, Reds skipper Donato Calandreillo roped a double in the last inning to plate the game tying run to deny the Red Sox their first W of the season. Go figure.

D-Backs beat a much improved Cardinals squad
by Dade Diamondbacks (Senior Division)
It was a beautiful day for baseball at South Miami High School. The game was a pitcher’s duel for the 1st 2 innings. It took 3 innings before The D-Backs scored the game’s 1st run on Eddie Capote’s RBI line shot to left center scoring David Palma. Ivan Asencion led off the 4th with a double and was brought in by Tom Terribile’s RBI hit for a 2-0 lead after 4 innings. The Cardinals starting pitcher Emilio was pulled after 5 innings in a 2-0 tight game. The D-Backs put up 3 runs in the 6th on hits from Brandon Prater, Tom Terribile and Juan Nunez for a 5-0 lead after 6 innings. Gary Rader’s 3 run blast over the right field wall extended the lead to 8-0 after 7 innings. The D-Backs would add 2 more runs in the 8th to knock out a feisty Cards team 10-0. D-Backs pitcher Matt Leban pitched a great game, CG 8 IP, 0 ER, 12 K, 2 hits. No Cardinals runner reached 3rd base. Tom Terribile was 3-3, BB, RBI, 2 SB, 2 RS. Good game to Manager Alex Manzano and a classy Cardinals team.

Tigers get a much needed win after 3 game losing streak…
by Davie Tigers (Senior Division)
It’s been awhile but the Tigers stop the bleeding against the short handed Indians…Key hitting contributions from Adam Stramwasser, who went 2 for 4 with 5 RBI’s, Ricardo Luna who was also 2 for 4 with a solo HR, and Gustavo Bordones, who would go 3 for 4 with a double and solo HR of his own. Ray would go 5 strong innings for the win. Newcomer Yasu Imoto would pitch for the 1st time as a Tiger, and Big C would come in and pitch well. Tigers are looking forward to their rematch next week with the Monstrous….

Monarchs get big win…
by Perrine Monarchs (Senior Division)
The Monarchs squared off against the Brewers for a divisional game at Perrine Park. The was the rubber game as each team had already defeated each other previously. The Monarchs took a 5-0 lead and held on for the win. As always, the Brewers played well and look forward to meeting them in the playoffs.
Brewers trailed from the get go .Close game 5-2 until a 9th inning 5 run rally from the Monarchs.Great game from the Monarchs especially on the defensive side. Looking forward for our next match.

Southern Yankees (Senior Division) 4 Bums walk away with win
South Florida Beach Bums (Senior Division) 6 4th inning rally gives Bums the win

Bums walk away with win
by Southern Yankees (Senior Division)
The South Florida Beach Bums took advantage of 11 free passes and some sloppy defense and edged the Southern Yankees 6-4. Eric Judd gave up only 3 hits but had uncharacteristic control issues. Poor fielding by the Southern Yankees third baseman turned into 3 consecutive errors as the Yankees basically gave the game away. Not to take away from the SFBB pitchers who were lights out once again on the mound with 9 strikeouts. They wiggled out of jams time and time again and when the Southern Yankees needed the clutch hit they just didnt deliver.. The top half of the lineup of Joe Darelli, Sam Bartoletta,Hector Perez , Dan Fimiani& Eric judd had 8 of the teams 10 hits and were on base 5 other times via walks. In contrast the bottom of the lineup failed to show up and looked at too many called third strikes and didnt advance runners when called upon. I hate to bring up the negative again but 2 hits in 21 ABs with many runners in scoring position tells me the bottom of the lineup left their game in bed that morning. It was a tough contest to lose but when you cant make routine plays or hit the ball when the bright lights are on you then it spells disaster. Reggie 44 would not be proud of your performance. Enough said we forget it and move on and learn from our mistakes. We all know collectively the Southern Yankees are a much better team than displayed and were the polar opposite of the week before. Joe Darelli put on a hitting clinic with 4 hits -yes the superfecta; and almost single handedly pulled the game out for the Southern Yankees. Dan Fimiani pitched 3+ brilliant scoreless innings and gave the Southern Yankees a chance to come back in a very tight game. In two contests with the talented SFBB team we struck out 9 times each game against their hard throwing pitching staff. We scored 7 runs and they scored 6 as we split the series one game apiece winning 3-0 and losing 6-4. So looking at the positive we were very competitive against the best. We really missed Reidy, Ramos & Hugo this week and except for the disastorous 4th inning we really held our own against the top team in our division. Hats off to the SFBB team and Manager Charles & Sean. You guys played the game well and pitched great and got the win. We wish you success in the playoffs. The Southern Yankees look to regroup for next game. Stay thirsty my friends!

The Rangers played well but could not win the game. Always a pleasure playing the Blacksox, we wish them the best in the playoffs.
The Black Sox take a tough one.
by Broward Black Sox (Masters Division)
Another hard fought Seesaw Battle with the Rangers. Pitching, defense and offense held its own on both teams ending with a walk off RBI single by Nelson Reyes. Way to go SOX. On a side note, the last 2 weeks have been hard for the Black Sox losing 2 family members. Prayers go out to the families of Pops and Mama. May they rest in peace…..
Magic City Red Sox (Masters Division) 10
South Florida Dodgers (Masters Division) 13 Come back win!

Red Sox starter Javy Rosario pitched well again, but had to deal with 4 or 5 outs an inning as defensive miscues and passed balls ruined the day. More of a collaboration than a competition, with loaned players and equipment, the Red Sox and Dodgers found a way to play ball under trying circumstances. Sawx relievers coughed up a 5-run lead in the 8th and last inning. Great day by Jim Baker 4-5 3 runs scored 2 RBI, Alex Lugones, 4-5 and Eric M. 3-5. Can’t wait for the rematch. Special thanks to Dave C and Rey for helping out.
Come back win!
by South Florida Dodgers (Masters Division)
Dodgers were trailing 5 to 10 and in the bottom of the 8th they came back for the win with 8 run scored to make the win 13-10. Nathan lead with 6-5 2b and 2 RBI, Rick went 6-2 RBI, Lee 5-3, Ramirez 5-2, Pandolfo 5-2 and pitched excellent! The rest of the team contributed as well. Thanks to the REDSOX for a great game!
