Intense victory for Brew Crew
by Miami Brewers (Senior Division)
A great day for Playoff baseball. The Veteran crew open with 1 run in the 1st & 3 in the 2nd to set the tone for the game. Brewers Led the entire game, but by no means was it an easy victory. The young Monsters close the gap in the 4th inning making it 4-3,but we answer back with a 2 run HR by Bryan to make it 6-3. Game continue back and forth until finally Sean shot down the Monsters in the 8th and 9th for the 8-6 victory. Sean struck out 12 batters for the complete game victory to move to the 2nd round of the Playoffs. The Brewers hit 3 homeruns on the day. It was a fun and intense game to play such a young team, they kept us on our heels the entire game. Hats off to the Monsters and good luck for nxt season.

Monstruos come up short
by Monster Mini Golf Monstruos (Senior Division)

A great playoff battle between the Brewers and the Monstruos took place sunday morning at Cypress Bay High School. The Brewers jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, caused by errors from some of the Monstruos top players, lined up with some very timely hits from the Brewers. Something the Monstruos would of never expected, many mental mistakes took place throughout the whole game starting in those first two innings, but the Monstruos never stopped fighting back scoring a run in almost every inning of the game from the second inning on. It seemed like the Brewers were just able to contain the damage, we were on the verge of a breakout inning every time we were up to bat. Hats off to the Brewers who came to play bashing 3 homers, and a ton of clutch hits. It was definitely a fun exciting playoff game. All in all it was a great first season for us, didn’t end the way we wanted it to or expected it to, but it wasn’t meant to be. Thank you to Mickey and Jay who gave us the opportunity, and for all the help throughout the season. Also I would like to thank all the SFBL teams and coaches for a great season. Hopefully we can get sponsors again next season so we can play again. Well until next time. #MonstruoBaseball

Dade Tigers Advance To The Championship

This game was all about the pitching. The Dade Tigers two pitchers Alain Hernandez and Ryan Paylor held the defending champion Black Sox to 2 hits, and 1 run (0 ER). While striking out 9 and walking 2. The Black Sox lone run came in the top of the 3rd when a combination of an error and wild pitch allowed a runner to score. The Tigers would tie it 1-1 in the bottom of the 3rd when an error allowed Tigers outfielder Jonathan Silva to get on base with two outs. Next batter Ryan Paylor would hit a line drive to left that would score Silva and tie the score 1-1. The Tigers then jumped all over them in the bottom of the 4th with 3 straight singles to load the bases with no outs but Black Sox pitcher picked off the lead runner at 3rd and then on his next pitch got the batter to ground out into a 6-4-3 double play to get out a jam. The score would stay tied 1-1 up until the bottom of the 7th. That’s when Rene Orovio (3-3, 1 Run, 1 SB) lead off the inning with a single followed by another single by Angel Estevez who was 2 for 3 on the day. Garvi Aries then brought Orovio around to score with a single of his own to make the contest 2-1 Tigers. After another single by Danger Villalobos, Duane Medina came up big with a two out double in the gap that scored two runs to make it 4-1 Tigers. And that was enough to send the Dade Tigers to the Masters Division Championship Game. Hats off to the Black Sox for a game well played. The Dade Tigers will face the Palm Beach Angles in the championship. Tigers look to get some revenge as the Angels were the only team to defeat the Tigers this season twice, 12-11 and 11-4…should be a good one!

The Palm Beach Angels of Coconut Creek (representing greater Fort Lauderdale) won their semi-final matchup with the Miramar Rangers by an 11-0 count. Alvaro Gomez tossed a complete game one hitter, striking out nine. Gomez allowed an infield single to Tony DeMarco and nothing else. Anthony DeFilippis, Keith Nicoll, Paul Tunink, and Phil Laufman led a balanced attack with two hits each. The Angels will face the powerful Dade Tigers for the Master’s Division championship.
