Cory Casuso pitched brilliantly in his return to the Red Sox, pitching five solid innings while giving up no earned runs. The Sox traded leads with the Dbacks only to give up five runs in relief to lose the team’s 2013 Spring campaign opener. The Red Sox rejoined the Premier Division this season after having competed in the Senior Division last season.

Tigers would lose a close one to the Brewers on Sunday. It’s always a good, competitive battle when these two teams meet, but despite the early Tigers lead, the Brew crew would find a way to get it done. Tigers would get a few runs in the 1st off of RBI hits by Mike Orris and Andy Botett. Tigers would tack on two more in the 3rd as Adam would start things off that inning with a double. Marcel would single to right, and Mike would come up clutch with a two RBI base hit. The Brewers would bounce back though, getting a couple of unearned runs in 3rd off of Tigers starter, Max Waich. Tigers would add two more in the 4th as Chayanne would lead off with base hit up the middle, and Miguel Bubis (pronounced BOOBIES) would rip double to deep center. Big C would get them both in with 2 RBI double. But Brewers would battle back with 3 of their own in the 4th. Brewers reliever would then keep Tigers bats quiet to seal the win. Tigers will need to play with a lot more intensity to stay competitive in much improved Senior Division.

Brewers and Tigers played a great game.Tigers scored some early runs and Brewers playing catch up for most of the game. Once we settled in the pitching, eventually we took the lead in the 7th and kept it. As always fun to play the Tigers. Brewers still rusty with the Sticks but a much better performance at the plate this week. Go Brewers!!!!

It was a great game offensively. Marcos was the clear MVP of the game. First 2 homers of the season are his plus 6 rbis and finishin gthe game pitching for 1 1/3. Pablito, Carlitos and Grua Stalcker with 4 hits each were imposible to stop & everybody on the roster had an RBI or Runs scored to complete the feast of 17 runs. BBs are ready for next game.
D-Backs fall short | ||

It was once again unseasonably hot for The D-Backs 1st ever trip to American High School. The Black Bats came out in the top of the 1st inning scored a run on a single and a double. After a walk and a hit loaded the bases, a routine come-backer to the mound went horribly wrong. Pitcher Jay Habacht threw the ball home and catcher Andy Chavarriaga fired to 1st for what should have been a routine double play; however, both runners were called safe and the inning continued. The Black Bats would score another 3 runs for an early 4-0 lead. Mario Figueredo would turn a leadoff single into a run for a 4-1 score after 1 inning. Xavier Ubiera’s RBI hit would bring the score to 4-2 after 2 innings completed. In the 3rd inning, Marcos Canada for The Black Bats would hit the 1st of his 2 homeruns on the day. This HR was a 2 run shot on a pitch that was ankle-high. That brought the score to 6-2 after 3 innings. In the 4th inning, things turned for the worse, as center fielder and 3rd batter Eddie Montalvo dove for and caught a sinking line drive, but the ball was not in voluntary control ruled the field umpire. Eddie Fractured his elbow and wrist on the play and would leave the game. Eddie will be in a cast for 6 weeks. We all wish Eddie a speedy recovery. A combination of errors and hits would plate 6 more runs in the inning and put the D-Backs down 12-2. However, The D-backs fought back with 5 runs of their own in the 4th inning, highlighted by Andy Chavarriaga’s 2 run bomb to left, to close the gap to 12-7 after 4 innings. Another 2 run HR by Marcos Canada for The Black Bats and 2 runs from The D-Backs would bring the score to 14-9 after 5 innings. Both teams would tack on a few late runs, then time ran out for a disappointing 17-11 result in only 7 innings. Offensively, The D-Backs would score runs in 6 of the 7 innings played and showed a lot of heart. Eddie Capote was a perfect 3-3, BB, 3 RS, 2 SB. Mario Figueredo, Andy Chavarriaga, Mo Chavarriaga, and Xavier Ubiera had 2 hits each. Good game to the Black Bats.

First game of the season and was not sure if it would rain. It was cloudy and cool but the Sun prevailed and the Clouds cleared to make for a good day for Baseball. The Rays led of with 1 run in the first and the White Sox came back with 4 of their own. The Rays would keep fighting, Down 6 to 4 in the 4th and Tie it up at 7each in the top of the 5th. Kevin Parsons pitched a spectacular 6 innings to allow only one more run at the btm of the 5th inning and Kenneth Neale shut them down in the 7th and Alec Lowrey came in and Closed the door in the 8th. Rays tacked on 3 more in the 6th and 4 in the 8th to end the game. Hats off to the Stingrays for a Complete game by a Complete Team Effort.

Yankees rebuilding team after losing several players in the off-season. Poor defense (7 errors in the 2nd inning) & no hitting equals knockout in any league. Yankee baseball will soon return. Only Kudos of the game goes to Albie/Ivan/Tiedo for a spectacular 5-3-6 dp in the 1st inning with the runner trying to advance to third. Awesome play!!!! Good game Twins/Angels (new uni’s look nice).
